The Global Board for Online Content Creation (GBOCC) is the professional body for creators worldwide, dedicated to shaping and safeguarding the future of the creator economy. Fundamentally, we function as both a union and a professional institute, providing creators with the collective voice, recognition, and protections they have long deserved.

Our mission is to provide a credible, unified voice for content creators by championing their rights, setting professional standards, and building the systems that allow this fast-growing industry to thrive. We exist to ensure creators are recognised not just for their influence, but for the economic, cultural, and social value they bring to the world.

The creator economy remains heavily unregulated, and we do not want it to suffer the same fate or poor reputation as industries that came before. Now is the moment to establish fairness and accountability. That means tackling issues such as fair pay, mental health and wellbeing, access to finance, and career sustainability (areas where creators and the teams who support them deserve stronger structures and protections).

GBOCC reinvests directly into initiatives that strengthen the industry for the long term. We focus on amplifying diverse voices, supporting wellbeing, and cultivating inclusive growth that benefits creators, teams, partners, and communities alike. Our work encompasses industry research, training, and advocacy, alongside practical support, including legal templates (coming soon), policy engagement, and professional development opportunities. These efforts are designed to create the standards, networks, and safeguards that allow creators to work fairly, ethically, and sustainably.

This year marks the launch of GBOCC and the start of our international chapter network. We are currently focused on establishing our three founding chapters: the British Board for Online Content Creation (BBOCC), the European Board for Online Content Creation (EBOCC), and the American Board for Online Content Creation (ABOCC). Each chapter represents creators locally while contributing to a shared global framework of protections, opportunities, and professional recognition. Together, they form the foundation of a truly international movement.
